People sometimes ask why our website does not list the organisations we work with. It would be the easiest way to show experience. But in security, who you work with is itself sensitive information.
Your security arrangements are not marketing material
Knowing that an organisation has hired a security adviser says something about its concerns. Knowing which adviser, and when, can say more. A list of clients tells anyone who looks where assessments have been carried out, and invites questions about what was found. For many of the organisations we serve — corporate head offices, public bodies, port facilities, healthcare providers — that is information they would rather keep to themselves.
Confidentiality starts before the engagement
We treat the fact of an enquiry as confidential, not just the work that follows. Reports are shared only with the people our client nominates. Findings are not discussed outside the engagement, and we do not use client sites or situations in case studies without explicit permission.
How references work
Discretion does not mean asking you to take our experience on trust. When a prospective client would like to speak with someone we have worked with in a similar sector, we ask a past client whether they are willing to take the call, and make an introduction if they agree. That way references are real, relevant and given with consent.
What this means for you
- Your enquiry is confidential from the first message.
- Your name, sites and findings are never used publicly without your permission.
- Private references are available on request, where appropriate.
